Why So Serious?

A smile is a smile when it emanates from your heart and reaches your eyes.

The thing is, we are so focused on the bigger picture that we forget to pay attention to the small details that make the picture beautiful. We are so busy slogging hard each day to create a better life in the future that we overlook the present. Important thing to bear in mind is as long as we work towards a better today, we never would have to worry about a better tomorrow. As clichéd as it sounds, fact is we live in the present. And we need to make this present happy.

And it takes only one person to make you happy – you. It’s in your hands. Do not depend on others to make your life better. The essence of your being is the reflection of what you do with your life, the decisions you take. Nobody else is responsible. Don’t ever let others take control; find your happiness just like a river would find its way – by moving forward despite the obstacles. I, myself follow the mantra given by Goi Nasu –

Entire water of the sea can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside. Similarly, negativity of the world can’t bog you down unless you allow it to get inside you.

The primary agenda should be making your day happier, contented and meaningful without losing sight of the ultimate life goal. It is simple Maths – Life is the sum of all your experiences. Only when you start experiencing each moment will you truly live. Each moment is just another prospect for happiness. How often have you heard – all good things come in small packages? Well, it’s true here too. It is the little joys that come together to give you a sense of fulfilment and bliss.

So take charge, go crazy, worry less, smile more, do things that you never thought you’d do. Give your loved ones a reason to smile and feel that smile reach your heart. Spread the cheer. Own the moment at hand and…

Let’s put a smile on that face!
